Alena Houghton, M.A. Educational Therapist is a vetted member of the Association of Educational Therapists. As an educational therapist, she serves students with learning differences. She is a certified special educator with years of experience and now, a small business owner. Her private practice is in educational therapy. She works with students who struggle in school and who may have a diagnosed learning difference. These differences include ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia etc. In the process, strives to develop self-confidence, autonomy, and ultimately empowerment within her clients. Since the pandemic, families with children who have specific learning needs are struggling more than ever, no matter the learning environment they are in. In addition to ed therapy, Alena with schools and families and provides trainings in the area of providing tools and strategies for working with our most struggling learners.

Alena has partnered with Dr. Jeffrey Fry, licensed psychologist in Medford, to administer comprehensive learning disorder evaluations. Dr. Fry diagnoses dyslexia, dysgraphia (writing disability), and dyscalculia (math disability). There is no one else providing this service in Southern Oregon outside of the public schools and Alena and Dr. Fry are thrilled to be able to offer it to families.
