Walking Tall

Walking Tall provides compassionate life coaching to teen young men by establishing permanent connections with Christian faith-based mentorship, and by building personal respect, integrity and character through job-readiness skills.
Twice a week nearly 70 mentors volunteer their time to meet with the 7-12 grade boys coming to the center. The evenings begin with dinner and a Bible study, followed by trade pre-apprenticeship style shop time doing activities like building a classroom, rebuilding a bus, designing on a CAD, utilizing drills, sanders, saws, or rebuilding motorcycles! The boys who stick with this program build character, work ethic, business skills, faith, and a resume that truly helps them enter the workforce with confidence. Boys come from all over southern Oregon on Monday and/or Wednesday evenings every week and are welcome to stay in the program until they turn 18 at which time they may still be involved as Jr. Mentors.
