What is Open Ed? In short, they use public dollars to probide generous financial and educational support to families “doing school” outside of the public school classroom.
Open Ed is a for-profit company based out of Utah that enables non-public school families to recoup some of those lost tax dollars by reimbursing families up to about $2500 per school year for secular expenses that may include non-religious classes, electives, or extracurriculars like DANCE (including choreography and competition fees), sports, clubs or music. Also reimbursed are items for technology such as computers, entrepreneur, supplies, like website, hosting, or marketing, internet bills and so much more! Currently, open Ed is open to K-8 grade, hopefully adding high school next year! In addition to the financial reimbursement, Open Ed offers a ton of resources to students, including programs like gizmos, a robust virtual science lab, live classes and clubs (science, art, legos, etc) and the opportunity to meet with live tutor on any core subjects all for free!
This may sound too good to be true, but many families are already enjoying the benefits. Don’t hesitate to reach out!
