Place-based education (PBE) is anytime, anywhere learning that leverages the power of place and connects learners to communities and the world around them. Teton Science Schools Place Network defines place as the ecological, cultural, and economic aspects that make up a community. Research in PBE indicates that a students sense of self, motivation to learn, and community engagement are enhanced through meaningful interactions with immediate physical and cultural environments.
